The Impact of Telecommunications of our Lives

In the 1990s the internet brought about online transactions, trading, and shopping. At the same time, wireless communications enabled Wi-Fi within offices and homes, and use of cellular phones.

The improved Internet bandwidth with options such as fiber-to-the-home connectivity in the late 19900s and early 2000s led to a large-scale adoption of massive open online courses or MOOCs.


Now with the global pandemic in the 2020s, the improved online connectivity is expected to increase adoption of video-based consultation. The concept is not new. But the ongoing pandemic in the 2020, will become a driver to accelerate adoption.
